Being in love is all about the little things. It’s being a soul that brightens the other. You Shine light when another is dim. Sometimes its sharing the last slice of pizza or giving up the warm side of the blanket. But after nine years of love, when these tiny passions are still oozing out of you (and you learn the saxophone just so you can play to your bride on proposal – yeah, I know, that’s actually a real thing!) you know the rest of your forever is going to filled with all the selfless kindness.

Being a part of this journey for Carol and Jasper was truly one of a kind. It all began in the sunshine state of Queensland (just as their young love did too), and took us over the seas.

I first got to know these two at our pre-wedding shoot in Brisbane, it was the beginning of a breathtaking love that lead us to the more formal celebrations in Hong Kong – an unforgettable trip to say the least. Delving into a such a traditional culture was unreal; the colours, formalities and respect were all insanely captivating and an honour to photograph.

Not a detail was left unturned, with two Traditional Tea Ceremonies and traditional western ceremony as well as a Chinese Ceremony, the blessings were wished in hundreds and the love was certainly plentiful. The best part, the diversity! We took to the streets of Hong Kong and galivanted our way through the city to snap up some incredible shots for these two lovers, then the traditional, wow. They speak louder than words, highlighting the beautiful culture from which these two hearts stem. A romance built on generations of wisdom, loyalty and tradition.

The highlight for me, the reflection. Looking back through these captures make me reminisce on a time when memories were not only shared, but stories were captured that will now forever remembered.
